The site is particularly striking.
The housing will be situated on
a flat plain within the wooded valley of the Water of Leith. This
setting has had a strong influence on the
development of our
proposals. Our aim is to reinforce the site's natural character
by using only indigenous planting. Gean trees form the main
avenues and as a backdrop, sparse groves of silver birch unify
the back garden areas. Oak and willow are used as specimen
trees in key locations and avenues of rowan are planted
throughout the front garden areas. Thorn and privet hedges,
rather than walls are also used to divide gardens further
emphasising the natural character of the site.
