  Bannockburn Battlefield

In early 2004 we were part of the winning team for The National
Trust for Scotland's competition to develop proposals for a new
visitor centre at Bannockburn.

It is thought that the part of the battlefield that the trust now
owns, was in fact Robert the Bruce's encampment. At the time
of the battle this was a wooded hill, which over time this has
been cleared, allowing modern development to encroached upon
its edges.

Our concept for the site is a simple one; the conversion of the
present bleak open hill, into a woodland, as it was at the time of
the battle. From this woodland; rides, openings and pathways
have been developed, creating spaces for interpretation of the
battle. Also, views outwards focus on significant features of the
site's story such as Stirling Castle and the Highlands beyond.

We are currently developing detailed proposals for the site and
a new visitors centre in association with Allan Murray Architects
and Event Communications Interpretation Designers.
